The DEEP

The DEEP is a sculptural entrance installation for a cocktail bar in Tivat, Montenegro. The project began not in the original brief, but emerged after the interior design was already complete. Recognizing that the space needed a powerful street-facing gesture, a sculptural statement was conceived to stop pedestrians in their tracks and signal what awaits inside. The result is a playful yet commanding work that breaks the rules of serious art while establishing an unmistakable identity.

The installation features a shocked pug, a figure whose expression captures genuine surprise, rendered with such character and detail that viewers cannot help but smile. This unexpected protagonist sits alongside classical sculptural references, creating a dialogue between high art and contemporary humor. The composition plays with scale, material, and emotional content, asking visitors to reconsider what sculpture can express and what a destination bar can represent through its public face.

The DEEP exemplifies how sculpture can establish hospitality identity through personality rather than formality. By embracing humor, emotion, and visual surprise at the threshold, the work creates an immediate connection between the street and the venue's artistic vision. The installation proves that a single bold sculptural gesture, even one centered on a bewildered dog, can transform a facade into a cultural landmark and invite the world inside.
